Angkor Wat is the most famous temple of the Angkor site.
Built
by Suryavarman II during the first half of the 12th century, is is
a funeral pyre dedicated to Vishnu. The temple covers 1500
x 1300 m area and it spreads over three levels and is surrounded
by 4 protective walls. |

The temple is famous for its bas-reliefs wich were carved
to
teach Khmer people about Vishnu. |
