Built in 1191 on a spot where King Javayarman VII fought

won a crucial battle against the Chams, Preah Khan was a royal
city on its own. It is believed there was even an hospital inside. |

The main shrine has been renovated and is richly decorated
with lintels, panels and bas-reliefs depicting Budhist and Hindu epics. |
